The Scenic Route - by Owain Jevons

She always goes the scenic route. For reasons unbeknown to us She always takes the road less travelled, Flaunts the map and makes a fuss, And leads us off into the wild. No fading track or web of trees Will stop her on her singular quest To cross all borders, lands and seas. No thought that: once the brow is reached, She must descend, the other side, Or once the seventh shoreline\'s breached She cannot walk upon the tide. And yet - she must - For better this, than stay indoors, And dream of all the world beyond, With her feet shackled firmly to the floor.
